Subroutine Calling Sequence Definitions

This section defines the calling sequence of parameters for all the user-callable Fortran FITSIO subroutines. The SPP interface subroutines have the same arguments (except as noted above) but have names that begin with 'fs' rather than 'ft'. A right arrow symbol is used in this document to separate the input parameters from the output parameters in the definition of each subroutine. This symbol is not actually part of the calling sequence. (But as described above, the status parameter is both an input and an output parameter). An alphabetical list and definition of all the parameters is given at the end of this section.
